I think both Maria and James have good point, but I more agree with Maria. Online learning is very convenient for the student who is busy. In my country, many student need to do part-time job, so they can not go to the class every day. If the course is online, they can watch the video in the night and they will not miss anything. Also I think the most important factor is the subject. If you study the computer science, the online class is enough, because you only need a computer. But if you study the medicine, you must go to the lab and touch the real thing. So it depend on what you learn. Last year I take an online course about data analysis and I finish it successfully. So I believe online learning is useful for most of student.
